USF has denied that it used race as a determining factor to terminate former employee James Dragna.
Dragna, former senior associate vice president of student affairs, filed a legal complaint with the Hillsborough County Circuit Court last month, accusing his former boss, Student Affairs Vice President Jennifer Meningall, of firing him because of his race (Dragna is white and Meningall is black).

The Bush administration has placed an almost two-year moratorium on solar-energy projects on public land, citing a need for studies regarding "the environmental impact the solar projects will have on land in Arizona, Nevada, California and other western states," Democracy Now! reported Monday.

USF has been given a total of $8.75 million to help develop renewable energy systems and to educate students about the renewable energy industry over the next three years.
The money comes from a bill passed by state legislature in April called the Florida Energy Systems Consortium.
